Great database of food items, along with Barcode scanning or entering details off the label, if not in the database. Conversion between imperial and metric can crash it. Good integration with other apps, such as Withings, and now seamlessly with Samsung S Health for activity synching, i.e. counting steps. No calorie breakdown for non-cardio exercises. Good, solid program but needs updates. Would like to see the time logged. Recent update removed Frequent Items but reinstall fixed this. Full Review

Easy to use app and website to track macro and caloric intake. Don't trust the recommendation of 1200 calories a day unless you are not active at all. I used that recommendation from 2010-2015 and never lost weight. It wasn't until I started consistently eating a 1600 diet with a well balance of protein, fats, and carbs that I saw chances in the scale and my physique. IIFYM for the WIN! Paid for the upgrade and it's way worth it for me because I can see the macros per meal in my diary. Full Review

I have lost 48 pounds in 5 months! I love this app it has changed my life. I tried everything before. I now believe that losing weight is easy. And I am doing it everyday. I just started using the app and sticking to it religiously and immediately started dropping weight. I am going to continue for a solid year and see the exact changes. The craziest part is I have been exercising way less than before counting calories. But I do hope to start lifting weights soon. Full Review

I've been using this app religiously for a month now, and it really has helped me achieve my weight loss goals. I've successfully lost 10 lbs just by keeping track of my nutrient and caloric intake, with minimal exercise. I don't have the premium version, but for what I need it for - ie calorie counting, it works great!! I love that the bar scanner has worked 100% of the time for me. Full Review

Fails to sync with Google Fit properly. Only cares about cardio as far as assigning calories to workouts. How come the blog frequently mentions the benefits of strength training but the app can't recognise the effort you've put in? The app is good at tracking food intake, but I don't need it for that any more. I'd like it to be able to tell me how many calories I've earned through strength training. Full Review

Great way to be accountable of your food intake. I add my own recipes and it calculates the macros and calories. I'm on the keto diet so it makes it easier know if my macro ratios are on target! Wish I could share my recipes and meals that I've entered because my husband is using this app too. Overall, if you are trying to eat healthy or lose weight, USE THIS APP! Full Review

This app has a bit of everything. I couldn't honestly say people would not be able to meet their goals while using it. Only thing I wish was different, I wish they had more information on the screen after you log you day, like how they got that number, and maybe a weekly estimate. Other than that. Great app. Full Review

Syncs with many other apps like Fitbit and Withings. The food database is incredible. It contains all the food I know of, not only in English, but in Norwegian too. Edit: New version is missing the share button, so I can no longer save interesting articles in Evernote or Flipboard, or share with friends and family using Whatsapp. Full Review

Needs more attention to the selection of different units of measure. Salads are a pain in the neck to input especially when you have a custom salad that everyone gets now. Maybe integrate a check box option when selecting a custom salad as to what ingredients go in. I cannot properly input the proper amount of servings of veggies for salads. Imagine .5 cups of each ingredient? Ha! You'd have a 9lbs salad! Full Review

Easy way to track my food, and I love how it links with my Samsung app. The only drawback I've found is that the calorie adjustment based on my daily activity doesn't always update properly. It will pull in the calorie adjustment if I don't have any other exercise listed, but it won't otherwise even if my fitness tracker's estimated calorie burn is higher than my fitness pal's. There could be some more work done to eliminate duplicate tracking of workouts. My fitness pal was pulling data from Samsung health, then adding it back to Samsung health and pulling it again. Causing all my workouts to be triplicate. The fix is to not allow MFP to write to Samsung health...but it should be simple to stop it from writing a workout that already exists. Full Review

Started out rating it as a 4 when it counted "some" of the active calories burned from my Garmin but only during set exercise routines and not ALL active calories burned but now it doesn't count any of the Garmin calories burned. Very disappointed because it doesn't adjust food diary correctly. The nutrition portion is helpful. Full Review

Better in every way before UA bought the app. I don't get why it tries to be a social platform, but I don't need or want a news feed in my diet app. The fact that diary isn't the default page is asinine. For the RIDICULOUS price of $10 a month I can pay a licensed dietitian for a food program. The program has become bloated far and beyond what it was when I wanted to use the app. Uninstalling. This app should be able to calculate calories burned, at least approximately, from entering activity, duration, and distance. How would I know how many calories burned (which is mandatory to enter) without a fitness tracker? Also doesn't differentiate healthy fats, added vs naturally occurring sugars. Does have a large library of foods, though. Love the barcode scanner. Full Review

Good for nothing. First: food weight can be calculated only in ounces. Have you guys ever heard of the metric system or the International System of Units? Second: activities are imported from Endomondo, but the duration of activity and the calories burned are multipled by approx 2.5. Are you kidding or what?? App deleted, try to create something reliable. Full Review

It's amazing that this is the best app of its kind. It's clearly desktop software that has been poorly patched in app format. There's too much on screen for an app! It's so slow you wind up tapping the wrong thing while it slowly loads something that you've inputted. Quite terrible! Full Review

The app is good when it works and I pay for the premium features. The company policies for bugs and service credits is poor. However there's currently a bug that means I and many other users can't log in to the app and only via the website if that. This bug may take three days to fix and it's happened before. The only compensation MFP pay is a month if you cancel at the end of your 12 month subscription. I think this is pathetic and that MFP has become too big and don't care about its users. I will be looking for an alternative at the end. Full Review

What is going on The app updated, and now it crashes EVERYTIME I log in. When I'm in the middle of adding to diary, a message pops up saying "unable to retrieve newsfeed" "unable to log in" (when I am already in the app, updating) and then signs me out. I now use the desktop version on my phone, but that isn't ideal. I uninstalled, re=installed. Same problem. I love the program, but the app is useless for me. Full Review

I like that there is a huge food database. What I don't like is that the entries have so many duplicates. Some sort of de-duplication or consolidation would be great. Also would be great to have auto metric/imperial conversions. I have to often find a metric food entry just to log it properly. Also think that for basic tracking, it could be better. Log food, see what's been logged. It's only halfway down the side nav. Should be the main feature. Full Review

Unfortunately the app started great but with each update comes a new bug that makes that app useless. The latest one is it freezes when you are trying to check in your weight. I mean isn't this of the most crucial features of the app? Being able to log in your weight so the app can adjust your calories accordingly? Not only that but it also freezes when you are trying to see you diary history for more than two days. Please give us back the app that we loved so much without those annoying bugs. Full Review

The app seemed great at first, but the last few days have been nothing but frustration. I got a new step counter, only to find I can't sync the app with it. I tried to import a recipe I got from the blog yesterday and that was a nightmare! I searched for the recipe and it couldn't find it. Then I scrolled through the blog until I found it, clicked import, and it picked up a completely different recipe! So I finally typed the ingredients manually, and I don't know what ingredient(s) got matched wrong, but the original recipe says it only has 494mg of sodium and what I got by putting it in manually says 1010mg sodium. With differing numbers like that and a lack of information about the calories I've burned, how is this supposed to be accurate? Full Review

Used app highly successfully and previously gave 5 stars. However, after short break, just came back to it in order to get back on track but hugely disappointed. Whereas previously breakfast, lunch etc database were kept separately, meaning it took seconds to enter food diary, now there is just a full database list meaning endlessly scrolling through to find each item. Highly demotivating and means either won't bother keeping food diary or will just enter everything as 'breakfast'. Slightly defeats objective and ability to track individual meals. Myfitnesspal how is this update an improvement??? Full Review
